Measure the rod, not the window. Your rod should extend 4–6 inches past the frame on each side so the curtain clears the glass when open.

For length, measure from the top of the rod down to where you want the curtain to end — the floor for a full drop, or 6 inches below the sill for a shorter window.

Curtains need 1.5 to 2 times your window width to fall in proper folds. A single panel stretched flat across a window looks thin and distorts the print.

The print is fade-resistant and holds up to daily sun exposure. Over several years, any fabric in direct harsh sunlight will lighten slightly — a lining slows this down considerably by taking the sun on its own surface instead.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, separately for the first wash. Do not bleach. Line dry in the shade and hang them damp — the weight of the fabric pulls most creases out on its own.
